DAY 19

A. OPENING THOUGHTS/OBSERVATIONS:

Yes, I have been a little disheartened today. Doubting myself, doubting the value of this program.  I want people to know about what I’m doing without sounding like a salesperson or a preacher. My Course in Miracles work is calling my attention to literally seeing everyone as a Son of God. To live in total abundance you have to give with abundance. In my world, I’m not being asked to give money, but give every person their true due, recognize their true value. The answer to my question about being compensated for my time and expertise is in seeing the light in every person.

My goals are starting to change. I feel that the original intentions (spiritual life, confidence, and becoming a new person) have all been attained. My quest now is developing the content for this book and making a career out of this passion. If not for today’s exercise, I probably would’ve given up on this Quest. Before today’s entry I was despairing. By the end I felt I’ve dug deep enough to continue and my passion renewed.


B. DREAM ENTRY:
 

I have a recurring dream where I’m about to graduate school, either at a high school or for a college curriculum, and have all the courses required except one, which I keep consistently forgetting that it’s on my roster of classes to take. It’s not that I don’t want to show up to class, it’s that I have difficulty remembering this one class I need to show up at. My faculty adviser says this is no longer an issue, that I’ve now completed the course load required to graduate. When I woke and recorded this dream I realized it was because I’m now completing the Course in Miracles. Hopefully this will put an end this this lifelong recurring dream.

OPTION # 2 

Emotional Calibrations with See/Hear/Feel is very similar to the exercises from Chapter 10: Plot Twists.

Between each exercise, instead of doing the "Free Association" with each emotion, you will make See/Hear/Feel statements that support your perception of the emotion you feel about each intention.

Here's an example:

Identify Intention: Rich Spiritual Life (Desire)

After Set 1: Make “I see” statements (or See/Hear/Feel statements with Emotional Calibrations.)

(a) I see myself leaving this world permanently.
I hear the voice of God telling me that I’m done here.
I feel a "greedy" urge to have power over my own destiny!


After Set 2: Make “I hear” statements (or See/Hear/Feel statements with Emotional Calibrations.)

Desire into Anger

(b) I see fire in my head because this is not as easy as I want it to be today.
I hear good advice bouncing off my skull that I’m too angry to listen to at the moment.
I feel frustrated that my prayers for a secure future are not being answered.

Anger into Pride

(c) I see my journal and it has some very useful dreams that have been helpful.
I hear God communicating His faith in me.
I feel satisfied in response to pausing and asking for help.

(a) I see people with their backs turned to me, not caring.
I hear silence, no energy being directed toward my efforts.
I feel only fatigue.

(b) Apathy into Grief: I see myself giving up and pouting over lack of interest in this book and project.
I hear myself distracting my attention with fruitless pursuits like video games.
I feel like giving up and feeling sorry for myself.

I hear people not telling me that I’m not a good writer to spare my feelings. I hear people say how spirituality is naive and stupid.
I feel stuck and willing to do anything but write.

(a) I see a bank account with six to seven figures from my efforts as a trainer, writer, and speaker.
I hear people complimenting me on the emotional motivation they feel for both working out and the increasing motivation they feel for life!
I feel greedy for more people to acknowledge my gifts!

(b) Desire into Anger: I see bills representing more debt piling up just when I have the money to pay it off. This pisses me off!
I hear someone criticizing my work without even trying it!
I feel ready to explode because nothing seems to be changing for the better.

(c) Anger into Pride: I see today’s pages being completed.
I hear my own words in my head and they move me to action.
I feel satisfied for putting forth a little bit of effort today.

Identify Intention: Content for Book (Pride into Courage)

After Set 1: Make “I see” statements. (If OPTION # 2, make See/Hear/Feel statements according to the emotion experienced.)

(a)  I see myself presenting a client with this workbook for the first time.
I hear myself explaining how spiritual understanding will increase the quality of your workout, your habits, and your life.
I feel empowered in standing alone as the only trainer (as of today) who works by this method.

(b) Courage into Trust: I see others secretly reading my work without wanting me to know.
I hear myself reading my A Course in Miracles devotions out loud and applying the concepts to my Hero’s Journey workouts.

I hear my friends' voices encouraging me on a day-to-day basis.

Identify Intention: Develop Content for Book (Willingness/Determination into Acceptance/Forgiveness)

(a) I see myself posting pieces of this book for public review even before it’s finished.
I hear myself typing keys to make revisions of the original text. I accept this because revenue is coming in from clients reading the blog as I openly edit my book in front of readers.
I feel a release knowing that my words and thoughts are generating experiences for me.


After Set 2: Make “I hear” statements. (If Option # 2, continue moving up the emotional scale with See/Hear/Feel statements.)

(b) Acceptance/Forgiveness into Clarity: I see miracles happening with those who come in contact with my words.
I hear people acknowledging specific results they’ve experienced physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
I feel a purity of spirit and completion with finishing this book to the point where others are helping me develop it.

(c) Clarity into Love: I see my living room where I’m taking the day off, meditating on how happy I’ve made others.

I feel peace.

5. Exercise 5: Dead Lifts with Back Extensions on Ball

Identify Intention: Increased Confidence (Pride)

After Set 1: Make “I see” statements. (If OPTION # 2, make See/Hear/Feel statements according to the emotion experienced.)

(a) I see a new client coming to me solely because of the ‘good vibes’ I’m sending out.
I hear her say “I’m so excited to get started doing this.”
I feel pride in having the presence of mind to see the light in others.

(b)
Pride into Courage: I see myself writing a thoughtful quote online that may sound controversial because of the spiritual intonations.
I hear my heart beating as I click the “Post” button when sending out the first contents of this book.
I feel courageous that I’m willing to offer my heart to others through this medium. My confidence grows through these acts of courage.

(c) Courage into Trust: I see a quote that reaffirms that I am a Son of God.
I hear people applauding my bravery for posting my heart’s thoughts.
I feel trusting that people understand my intentions are good.



6. Exercise 6: Jackknife Sit Ups with Pilates Ball Pass

Identify Intention: Increased Confidence (Trust into Willingness/Determination)

(a) I see what I’d like to improve about my body but know it pales in comparison to what I’ve done to my spirit.
I hear myself making an honest observation about something that a friend should be confident about. “You’re a great actress because you’re always listening on stage.”
I feel willing to sense the qualities in others that they should be confident about.

(b) Willingness/Determination into Acceptance/Forgiveness: I see and accept the honest improvements in my abs due to my change in diet.
I hear someone accepting and acknowledging my intentions for being an agent of light in the world. This makes me confident.
I feel forgiveness/oneness from acknowledging the light in someone else, even when they cannot see or feel it for themselves.


After Set 3: Make “I feel” statements.

(c) Acceptance/Forgiveness into Clarity: I see that my body’s changes are in direct reflection of how I’ve been changing my mind.
I hear a factual statement echoing in my head: “You only have one True Self, which is united with your Creator.”
I feel clarity.


(Again, I wanted to finish the Emotional Calibration from Clarity to Love.)

I see the face of God smiling with pride because of my actions today.
I hear another statement, “Your desire to understand is a reflection of your love.”
I feel love because the lack of effort in this moment is from feeling this good.
